Hands-on Learning for Tomorrow’s Innovators
ACIC SGTU Community Innovation Centre organized Ideathon 8.0 – NextGen Solutions, a
flagship innovation challenge aimed
at fostering creative problem-solving, interdisciplinary collaboration, and
entrepreneurial spirit among the students at
SGT University.
1st Round of Ideathon 8.0 – NextGen- Solutions:
The event began with an inaugural session, where Mr. Rishi Sharma, CEO of ACIC SGT
University, delivered the welcome
remarks. He introduced the objectives and guidelines of Ideathon 8.0 and motivated
the participants to think creatively
and present their ideas with clarity.
After the shortlisting process, 60 teams took part in the first round. The
shortlisted teams were given three hours to
prepare posters that visually showcased their ideas, focusing on the problem
statement, proposed solution, and its
significance. Once the posters were completed, each team presented their ideas
before the evaluators, explaining the
importance of the problem, the working of the solution, and the potential outcomes.
2nd Round of Ideathon 8.0 – NextGen-Solutions:
On 11th September 2025, ACIC SGTU Community Innovation Centre successfully organized the
second round of Ideathon 8.0 –
NextGen Solutions, featuring the crucial Pitch Deck Presentation stage.
In this round, 40 shortlisted teams from 1st round participated and presented structured
pitch decks that highlighted
the key aspects of their ideas, including feasibility, originality, and execution
strategy. Through their presentations,
participants not only demonstrated creativity but also showcased practical thinking,
explaining how their concepts could
be developed into real-world innovations.
The evaluators provided valuable feedback to the teams, helping them refine their
solutions and improve their
communication skills. This round particularly tested the participants’ ability to
clearly explain their value
proposition — what makes their idea unique and why it matters.
At the conclusion of the round, the shortlisted teams were tasked with advancing their
projects further by working on
prototypes. These prototypes will be showcased in the final stage of the competition,
where participants will
demonstrate their improved solutions and overall progress.
